The Crane Fly (Latin: Tipula Abdominalis). [1/2]This was my first encounter with this slender, long legged, interesting insect which also goes by the name - Daddy-long-legs. With the worst flight pattern of any species of flies, these fellows have erratic trajectories and are arduous to follow.

'Hero'phila Tristis (A brown longhorned beetle). [1/2]With an average lifespan of 2-3 years and given the fact that this guy didn't care to move even a millimeter as a herd of 15-20 cows walked right past it, over it, almost trampling it with their hoofs - giving me an impression that our 'hero' was either a daredevil or plain suicidal!.It was patient enough to let me shove the camera lens an inch or two away from it face.

European Rose Chafer(Latin: Cetonia Aurata) [1/2]Natures custom dual-tone, custom paint job. The dazzling mix of metallic green and bronze makes this beetle a head turner. This shall be the first time ever I saw this bad boy up close and in person. Interestingly the color does seems to serve a function - of signalling its predators, birds usually, to stay away, as ingesting the chafers poisons and eventually kills the attacker.Looks and passive-killing skills apart, the rose chafers are also detritivores, meaning, they are important recyclers of nutrients as they tend to feed on decaying matter along with feeding themselves the flower nectar - a contrasting, diametric appetite indeed.

One last kissWhat we see here is a speices of Ground Crab Spider, most certainly known as Xysticus Cristatus. (Correct me if I am wrong). These guys are masters in ambushing unsuspecting bugs, insects and as we see here, even bees. They intentionally place themselves at an activity-intense spot in any given area where many insects and bugs are usually astir. The crab spider then burrow themselves in the ground - usually an inch deep, and wait in vigilant anticipation for an unsuspecting life form to pass by, wherein these spiders spring out from their borrowed holes, sting their prey with its venom, and when the prey is nutralized, take them back to their burrowing holes to later feast on it.What is surprising for me atleast is, the Xysticus genus is not usually know to climb up all the way up, just under the petals/stalk of a flower, as we see here, and grab an unsuspecting bee.Expanding on this behaviour, and given the size of the Spider, I believe it to be a female, possibly a mother who is about to, or has already laid eggs, and in order to feed its offspring or stockpile the food resources, it might have got desperate enough to come so far away from its burrowing hole, whilst exposing itself to its predators, like birds or other bigger insects in the up in the food chain. The best part in all of this was the moment when the Spider quickly, to keep out of sight maybe, with few skillful maneuvers, took its prey down to the ground, and within seconds, it literally vanished into the grass below with its trophy, the bee.
The Right AngleI don't know what is happening here, but it sure seems like these two caterpillars - about to be morphed into pupaes - are having a crucial discussion. Note that these guys are from different species of caterpillars and to add to the drama, the bent blade of grass and the two caterpillar's close proximity seems rather unusual and queerly comic.
Napolean Spider [1/3]Do you see Napoleon Bonaparte on the spider?. Well, scroll to the third image in this set and you shall. This spider goes by the name 'Napoleon Spider' - Latin name would be - Synema Globosum - aptly named after the French Statesman - Napoleon Bonaparte - due to the fact - if you did actually manage to see - a silhouette of Napoleon Bonaparte on the abdomen the spider in black. This specific Napoleon Spider is a female - as females of this species are observed with three prominent color formations - Red (the one we have here), Yellow, and White. The males on the other hand though are stoic in their appearance with a generic black abdomen with two white marks - I wonder why!.These fellas do not make web - it's too old school for them it seems - they ambush and actively hunt down flower visiting insects as we see in one of the photographs. I hope to see the other shades of these magnificent arachnids.

Zebra Jumping Spider.Scientific name: Salticus Scenicus. The scientific name for the spider is derived from two languages, Latin and Greek. The Latin word 'Salticus' literally means Dancing and the Greek word 'Scenicus' translates to Theatrical. Both words describe the base, primary attributes of this spider. Salticus- Dancing - authentically describes the dextrous agility of this spider to maneuver its environment - this primarily involves jumping and quick paced glides, while the word Scenicus - Theatrical - emphasizes the flamboyant Zebra-like hues and shades evolution has bestowed unto this brilliant spider.Rigged with 4 pair of eyes - 8 in total - two of which - as you can see clearly in the photograph - the front facing, big round beautiful eyes, are primary, while the remaining 6 eyes - encircling the sternum (head) - gives this spider a stereoscopic and supposedly the best eyesight in the insect world. Quite a feat this tiny fella has achieved.
The Bag-shelter moth caterpillar(Latin: Ochrogaster Lunifer). These fellas are now prepared for winter - in this state of stillness they shall remain and come October these will transform themselves into pupaes which in turn shall transfrom into full grown Bag-Shelther Moth adults. These moths - though I haven't seen it yet and would love to witness the spectacle - are said to walk in a row, behind one another, especially when migrating from one tree to the next. Such migrations usually take place when they have defoliated the current tree and in order to feed, they shift to the next one. What I do not know is how these guys trace the next tree for resting and feeding themselves. A specific scent of the respective foliage maybe leading them towards a new location. Each of these caterpillar tend to leave a silk trail for the others to follow - if they find the silk trail at all. These hairy caterpillars are known for creating their fair share of troubles too. Apart from causing severe skin irritation to humans, as noted by biologist Tim Low, the hair strands of these caterpillars if swallowed by pregnant mares, can penetrate the intestinal wall, allowing bacteria into the bloodstream and cause infection of the placenta - and statistically this phenomenon has caused hundreds of thoroughbred foals to be aborted. My point to share this information is not to scare you or make you detest these otherwise beautiful beings - but to share the consequences for going too close to them. So observe them, respect them, give them the space these fellas deserve and all shall function well.#bagsheltermoth #ochrogasterlunifer #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #germanynaturephotography #fujifilmxt3 #80mmf28 #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global
European Harvestmen [1/3](Latin: Phalangium Opilio).Try and restrain your Arachnophobia (phobia of spiders) as these insects are 'not spiders' - though they do belong to the same Phylum and Class of spiders, Arthropoda and Arachnida respectively. Spiders fall under the Araneae Order whereas these guys are slotted under Opiliones. The name 'harvestmen' is a reference to the visibility of the insect - which reaches its peak, late summer and early fall during the harvest season. These interesting insects serve their role as 'generalist predators' - meaning they tend to exist in various crops and thrive in their corresponding habitats, which enables the harvestmen to keep the population of pests bothering various crops in check. These fellas 'do not posses' a venom or a silk gland to spin some webs. #daddylonglegs #phalangiumopilio #europeanharvestmen #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #fujifilmxt3 #80mmf28 #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global

Cricket-bat Orbweaver [2/2]Known as the Cricket-bat Orbweaver (Latin: Mangora Acalypha) - named so because of the distinct silhouette of a cricket bat on the abdomen of this spider (refer image 2 in this set). The term Orb-weaver is derived from the word Orb - which is specifically used to empathize the shape - i.e. circular/round, indicating the spiders ability to build circular webs. Speaking of webs, these Arachnids build a new web every single day - in order to clear unusable debris or dead particulate organic material (detritus) from its web. I am sure these fellas do not suffer from Germophobia which kicks their drive to come up with clean webs every day - but an interesting behavioural pattern nonetheless. These spiders are abundantly found throughout the world with exception of Greenland, Canada's Islands and our two poles - I speculate the constant, freezing or sub 10 degree celsius climatic conditions are not favorable for the thriving of these species.Speaking of species, not all spiders belonging to the Orbweaver group build webs. Some species produce sticky globules which the spiders then dangle from their front legs which attracts specific moth species. The unlucky moths who get attracted to this globules get stuck in this gluey blob to which the spider neatly reels back the globule and munches down on the meal. Ant Bag Beetle [1/3]Commonly known as the Ant Bag Beetle (Latin: Ultra Laeviuscula) - this diminutive insect has a rare peculiarity of being altruistic and sacrificing. Depends on how and from where you look at it, this beetle has evolved just enough to learn a vital parenting mechanism to ensure its nurslings thrive with higher probabilities of appropriating reasonable amounts of food throughout their larval stage. This is what precisely eventuates - the female ant bag beetle stashes it's eggs next to ant colonies. Next, the ants, for reasons not yet apparent, takes these eggs into its nest, through the tunnels and into the nests chambers where these eggs hatch, initiating the larval stage for these bambinos. The larvae of the beetle then nibbles onto the waste and other detritus left behind by the ant brood and thus haltingly passing their infancy and childhood stages within the ant nest, amongst thousands of ants, and emerging from the pit (can't help but imagine Bane from the Dark Knight Rises movie as one these fellas) as fully grown adults.Which evolutionary adversities adjured the mother beetle to gamble and venture on this path of selflessly leaving its eggs at the mercy of ants and why ants abstain from chomping down on the defenseless eggs shall remain one of the many mysteries of Mother Nature. #antbagbeetle #beetle #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #fujifilmxt3 #80mmf28 #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global #fujixt3 #myfujilove

Kung-Fu Spider
Nursery Web Spider [1/4] The Nursery Web Spider - Pisaura Mirabilis - derives its name from the act of the female spider of this species builds a nursery tent for its babies and stands guard near this sac/tent. The pose that we see here, I presume it to be its alert, hunting posture, or it may be its default resting posture, I do not know this detail as of posting these images, but as soon as I managed to take a few photographs of this sumptuous spider, a cricket whizzed over the leaf, inches from where our spider was resting. In an instance, the spider entailed the cricket and both vanished into the thick blanket of leafs and grass blades. I stood there in anticipation of slight movements in the grasses, but the scene remained intact, devoid of any motion whatsoever. It's safe to presume what must have become of the cricket. These spiders do not make webs and are active hunters. What we see here is a specimen of a female spider, the males tend to have a darker shade of brown compared to what we see here. Would love to see more of them and study their behaviour more closely. #nurserywebspider #pisauramirabilis #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #germanynaturephotography #spider #fujifilmxt3 #top_macro #kings_macro #arachnid #macrophotography #fujifilm_global #shotonfujifilm

Common Stretch SpiderThese spiders can walk on water. Literally. They get their binomial name 'Extensa' due to fact that these spiders embraces a straight line posture when alarmed - by extending the upper 4 legs in line with its head and the rest of the 4 legs in line with its abdomen - which makes it look longer, but more importantly, in such a posture it is easier for the spider to hide in the frame of a thin blade of a grass and thus camouflaging itself with its environment, thereby giving itself a chance to survive against the assailant or the passerby who has knowingly/unknowingly managed to disturb the spider for whatever reason. #tetragnathaextensa #commonstretchspider #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #fujifilmxt3 #fujixt3 #80mmf28 #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global #shotonfujifilm

Honey Suckle MothHoney Suckle Moth (Ypsolopha Dentella). These moths in their larval stage primarily feed on the Honeysuckle (Lonicera) plant hence the name. This moth has a short lifecycle of around two weeks and the adults generally start to fly during the months ranging from June to September and these moths tend to be drawn towards the light. Not much else is known about these tiny fellas - but graceful they are nonetheless. #honeysucklemoth #ypsolophadentella #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #fujifilmxt3 #fujixt3 #80mmf28 #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global #shotonfujifilm
Southern Green Stink Bug Nezara ViridulaThis bug stinks when it's disturbed - stinky introvert. It does so by discharging large amounts of foul-smelling, some say it smells like rotting coriander, and I take this information on its face value as I am not enthusiastic to personally confirm this information by disturbing one myself. This guy, I presume it to be a male as it seemed smaller, around 10mm-12mm in size compared to the relatively larger females sizing up to 13-15mm. Another cool feature these bugs have is the ability to sing - yes, they sing. Not in ways us humans can, but at shallow frequency of 160 and 215Hz and they achieve this by synchronously contracting the muscles that vibrate their abdomen. The liquid that you see dripping from its peircing-sucking mouthpart is called a rostrum which the bug utilizes to pump down salivary fluids and it tends to dip in the liquid onto/into the food it has decided to ingest. This excreted saliva liquefies the food and this liquefied food is then taken up by the same path into the tummy of our hungry bug.#greenstinkbug #nezaraviridula #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #fujifilmxt3 #fujixt3 #natgeoyourshot #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global #shotonfujifilm
Mute Swan Cygnus Olor A Mute Swan - during its daily cleaning chores late into the evening. Mute swans are not mute as the name suggests but its indicative of its generally silent nature. The grownups unoften make snorting, mildly barking or hissing noises. They are also known to be feircely territorial and make up as very protective parents. With a wingspan of 2 to 2.5 meters and towering at around 1.5 meters in height, they may seem imposing, but are definitely elegant to witness up close. It's signature style of holding its neck back in an elegant curve with its bill pointing downwards, similar to the silhouette seen here, gets them many admirers and such was its charm that it replaced the tiny wonder of a bird, the Eurasian Skylark (Skylark Alauda Arvensis) as the national bird of Denmark back in 1984. #NatureTTL #muteswan #cygnusolor #sunset #birdsofinstagram #Bird #birdstagram #instabird #birdlovers #wildlifephotography #feather_perfection #birdlife #kings_birds #birdphotography #feathers #birdwatching #AnimalElite #bns_nature #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #fujifilmxt3 #fujifilm_global #natgeoyourshot

Sunburst LichenXanthoria Parietina - commonly known as the maritime sunburst 'lichen' - lichen is basically an organism that arises from the combination of multiple organisms from the realm of fungi and algae wherein all the parties involved mutually reap the benefits of the given merger. This lichen specifically was chosen as a 'model organism' for genomic sequencing by the US Dept. of Energy - Joint Genome Institute (JGI) and additionally the X. Parietina is also used as a 'biomonitor' - meaning it is used to affirm the qualitative status of the environment, due to its high tolerance to air pollutants and heavy-metal contamination. Do note that lichen is chosen for 'Genomic sequencing', which is not the same as Genetic sequencing. The primary difference being that the Genomic sequencing involves the study of the entireity of an organisms genes, called the genome, wherein Genetic sequencing involves the study of specific and limited number of genes, or parts of genes, that have a known function. The yellow orange color is derived from the lichen's ability to produce xanthorin, a compound which is thought to be produced as a defence against UV radiation - hence in shaded areas this lichen retains the green hue as xanthorin is not required to protect itself against the UV radiation. In the past it was used as a remedy for jaundice. Who knew lichens would be this interesting! #xanthoriaparietina #xanthoria #maritimesunburstlichen #commonorangelichen #yellowscale #shorelichen #NatureTTL #lichen #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #naturepic #natgeoyourshot #lichenology #lichenlove #fungi #algae #genomicsequencing #JGI #jointgenomeinstitute #foliose #fungus #lichensofinstagram #macroworld_tr #macro_royals #macrophotography #macro_perfection #fujixt3 #fujifilmxt3 #fujifilm_global #shotonfujifilm
Agelena Labyrinthica [1/4]Agelena LabyrinthicaCommonly categorized under Funnel Spiders - these spiders tend to build non-sticky webs close to ground levels, usually at the forest/woodland edges. These layout their webs in such a way that it looks like a sheet of white, translucent sheet of cloth, making its home look like an architecturally intricate and lush, almost milky and presumably soft to touch. It derives its name, Labyrinthica, due to fact of how it makes its web, which reminds one of some sort of a labyrinth - replete with tortuous tunnels which tend to, mostly lead to a centrally located sac which serves as a base for the mother spider to deploy her eggs. This sac houses a maximum of roughly130 eggs. During incubation of the eggs, the mother spider might die due to natural causes, on which, since these spiders practice matriphagy i.e. consumption of mother by her offspring(s), the baby spiders will munch down the corpse of the mother spider, which, along with their own egg yolk stored in their abdomen, will help them survive the winter and exit the labyrinth in the coming spring. As a speciality, these spiders are idiothetic, meaning they orient themselves based on their awareness of their own positions in their web at any given point along with taking further cues from the pull of gravity, which denotes them their relative downward positions - hence they are able to move on and through their own labyrinth of web with ease at any given point in time. #agelenalabyrinthica #funnelspider #NatureTTL #spider #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #fujifilmxt3 #fujixt3 #80mmf28 #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global #shotonfujifilm

Heteroptera - A True BugThe Bug in Orange Heteroptera (Sub Order) of the Hemipetra Order. Commonly known as True Bugs. 'Species unknow as of now'. Feel free to let me know the name of the species of this bug or guide me to its Family or Genus - I'd appreciate it. In the meanwhile if I do trace out any additional information - I'll update the content here accordingly. Evidently, what you are looking at in these photographs is our 'Bug in Orange' giving birth and surprisingly the newborn precisely knows how to clutch itself to the bark of tree as soon as it left its mother's womb. The drama is unfolding on a long dead, fallen tree. If it helps - I encountered this bug in close proximity to a huge cluster of European firebugs (Pyrrhocoris Apterus) and behaviorally it seemed to avoid exposure to sunlight. #Heteroptera #truebug #unknownspeices #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #fujifilmxt3 #fujixt3 #80mmf28 #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global #shotonfujifilm
Leafhopper [1/2]A leafhopper walking over a small plant back illuminated by our glorious sun. Species is unknown to me as of yet. The leafhopper of the family Cicadellidae, is an insect which quite literally hops from one leaf or a blade of a grass to another which is the way it transports itself. One of the more interesting facts about these tiny beings is that these produce an granular enzyme called Brochosomes, which is hydrophobic in nature hence helps keep these fellas all nicely dry in case they come in contact with any moist particulates - like water droplets, moist discharges from other insects. #cicadellidae #leafhopper #NatureTTL #AnimalElite #bns_nature #majestic_macro #naturegrampixels #naturelover_gr #instannature #naturepic #nature_hub #ourplanet #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #thewildlifebiologist #kings_insect #macro_perfection #macroworld_tr #macro_turkey #macro_royals #picoftheday #fujifilmxt3 #fujixt3 #80mmf28 #top_macro #kings_macro #insects #macrophotography #fujifilm_global #shotonfujifilm

A Geum Bur seed resting over a wild garlic flowerThe Esoteric Plinth The presumption of me finding a cool bug whilst being perched over this Wild garlic flower (Allium Vineale) was redressed once I naturally honed onto the subject and to my surprise found, which was then unknown, a Geum Bur seed - which latches itself to the furs of passing animals or onto the clothing of people - which I infer to be the reason for the given seed to find itself in such a spot and position - lucky me! Initially to me it looked like a miniature swan, holding its head high, praising our sun. Now you might not know this but there is a direct relation between Velcro (the original hook-and-loop fastener) and one of the Bur seed bearing plant known as Tritium - commonly known as Burdock. A swiss investor, George De Mestral, stumbled upon the seeds of the burdock plant when these seeds had attached themselves to his clothes and to his dog's fur. Under a microscope, he looked closely at the hook system that the seeds use to hitchhike on passing animals aiding seed dispersal, and he realised that the same approach can be used to join other things together. His work led to the development of the hook-and-loop fastener, which was initially sold under the Velcro brand name. In my case, the seed inspired me to try and take its photograph and share it with you guys. #wildgarlicflowers #burseed #NatureTTL #flowerstagram #flowerphotography #blackandwhite #b&w #macro_flower #bokeh #petal_perfection #raw_flowers #colors_of_day_macro #kings_flora #macro_brilliance #macro_vision #heart_imprint #myheartinshots #fingerprintofgod #top_macro #allthingsofbeauty_ #flora_addict #shotonfujifilm #allkindsofmagic #artful_shotz #bokeh_addicts #charming_nature_ #explore_dof_ #fujifilm_global #raw_vip #fujifilmxt3

For the first time witnesser (including myself), this seemed to be arranged by other fellow humans in a form of some ritual, but to my absolute surprise, this phenomenon occurs naturally in nature. In some part of the world, folks consider this occurrence to be supernatural.
